NJCAA Tournament possible thanks to support and #SaintsPride

How many basketball teams can say that they made the Sweet 16? How many can say that they made it to Nationals? The answer is not many and the Lady Saints Basketball team ended their season in both. I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing team who overcame so much adversity throughout the season and accomplished what we did. Nationals was a once in a lifetime experience and the memories that I made there are memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. While competing for the biggest award in NJCAA basketball we got to meet some amazing people. Our hostess, Jr. coaches, and our most valuable fans made our experience one to remember. Not very many teams can say that their season was as successful as ours. We couldn't have done it without the amazing support that our fellow students, faculty and staff here at SCCC/ATS, and we definitely couldn't have done it without the support we received from the community. Not to mention the mentoring and motivation that we got from our coaches and parents even before the season started. I am truly blessed to be apart of such an amazing team with amazing support behind it! Go Lady Saints!

Students Go 0-60 in a Matter of Days

It's sad to say, but welcome back everybody! I can’t believe Spring Break is already over! Where did the time go??

I hope many of you enjoyed your week, because things are certainly getting kicked back into full swing here at Seward! While we're all going to be struggling to get our sleep schedules back on track, find the time to actually start those big term papers, and catch up with friends, we're also expecting a lot to happen this week!

Starting March 23, Seward will be hosting its annual Phone-a-Thon scholarship fundraiser. The fundraiser is a great opportunity to help raise funds for future Saints, get involved with the community, and for current scholarship recipients to show their thanks! If you’re in a club or organization, check with your sponsor to see when your group’s timeslot is. Prizes will be awarded to those who raise the most money!

Also this week, you can find the Saints softball and baseball teams out on the fields. The softball team will bat against Colby Community College tomorrow at 3 pm. The baseball team hosts Clarendon College this Wednesday, March 25 at 3. If you happen to miss that game, you can catch them again this weekend, March 28 and 29 as they play Rose State. Good luck to both teams!

On that note, congratulations to the Lady Saint Basketball team for making it in the Sweet 16 at the NJCAA National Tournament over Spring Break! The season may not have ended on the note they wanted, but their hearts and passion were definitely present all season. Good job Ladies; you made Seward proud!

To finish out the week, members of Phi Theta Kappa will be participating in Bowl for Kids’ Sake this Saturday, March 28. This fundraiser helps out the Liberal charter of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program to fund future children and adolescents in providing them with mentoring relationships and opportunities.

There you have it! There's your quick run-down of just a few of the many different activities Seward Saints are taking part in this week! There will be plenty more to come before the year winds down, so stay tuned! Go Saints!

Presidential Scholar Reflects on Relieving Stress

Hi, my name is Sheldynn Reynolds. I am a freshman at SCCC/ATS, and I'm originally from a small town in Oklahoma. I am a Presidential Scholar, student ambassador, and work in the Admissions Office.

College students seem to always be busy with classes, homework, work, and extracurricular activities. This can cause a lot of stress. To get away from this stress sometimes we need to just take a break and treat ourselves to a little relaxation. So maybe when you get a 30 minute break watch something on Netflix, play some videos games, take a nap, or catch up on social medias sites! #LetGoOfTheStress #TakeABreak #GetStartedAgain
